Do the colors in this photo take anything away from it over all/

I messed with it a little... but not too much. Is it overdone?
Thank you!

Good shot, John.

My personal taste is to use the least amount of editing as possible to bring the subject out. But, if you like it this way, it isn't wrong. Just a matter of style.

Matthew :)

Thanks for the feedback. "Obviously worked on" was what I was looking for, although I know it was meant in a positive sense. I was originally going for exactly the opppsite of that. But I liked what happened here.
This is what it looks like as shot. Both are nice in my opinion. But I'm torn between the two. Thanks for the feedback.... this site is awesome!!

To me the 'overworked' one highlights the subject better. :judge:

I really like them both. To me the first one in an abstract sense reminds me of a giant match being lit and the second looks like the stem underneath of a giant dandelion. I personally like the pp of the first and the muteness of the second.

:agree: with most of what's already been said. I would try something in between, to enhance the subject, and still make the shot believably natural. But, as Matthew says, not right or wrong: the work is fine, and your taste dictates your image.

I think it's overworked a little but ask me tomorrow when I'm in a different mood I might think it's just fine.

Beautiful sky and interesting perspective.... I like them both but the first one is my fave-nice shooting John. :)

I like the colors in this one. I enjoy working photos for the art of it. It's more creating and than just plain photography. But not all will like it.

Great feedback, as usual. "Believably natural" is a term that I will always use as a check point. Thanks for that!
