A few words of advice required

I am relatively new to this so would like some opinions if it is not too much to ask.
I suppose I am just wondering if I am getting things right(ish) or completely wrong.

p.s. I won't get upset so give it to me straight!

If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried!

The chair shot is really cool! The sun over the water, I would just crop some of the bottom to get rid of the bush in the shadows. Or compose the shot a little higher, so the top 1/3 of the photo is sky and bottom 2/3 are the water. Then you probably wouldn't have the bush there in the first place so you wouldn't need to crop it.
