Looking for feedback (I'll also post this in the B&W thread as half of them are B&W conversions), but let me know what y'all think.

As stated, I posted this in the B&W thread as well and "Baydream" suggested over there that I might put in some explanation as to what was done and intent so I figured I would copy and paste that over here as well.

Thanks for the feedback VT and BD.
This is an old cross on an adobe arched entry to a memorial for a fallen (local) soldier here in my hometown.
#1 is a 7 exposure HDR. My daughter really liked it, but is fond of B&W's and wanted me to try it in same. She didn't give me any details so I went to experimenting in PS. #2 is a straight default B&W conversion. #3 is a Red Filter conversion. #4 is an IR conversion and #5 is a High Contrast Red Filter conversion. #6 is from the backside looking North towards the clouds of and incoming storm. I isolated the sky and did a levels adjustment which gave the sky a much more ominous look / feel to it and the sun was still illuminating the the cross and archway. #7 was lying on the ground, looking up and into the sun to give the silhouetting / halo effect.

I hope that this helps with more effective Feedback BD.

Oh and just for information purposes, I like the conversions in #4 and #5 with the extremely dark sky. I agree #2 is too flat and #3 I'm undecided on.

As photography #6 with the clouds is my fav, in a strong way too. But if the intent here was message, then I'm no help. Symbols are not my bag.

no help Kelly

Thanks Kelly and I would say that my overall favorites would also be #6 with #7 coming in right behind it as in a photo finish....... (pun intended), but I do like all of them in some way or another and I would say that #2 is my least favorite of them all. But I already knew my opinion....haha..... and I appreciate yours very much.
