Anyone like WWII Warbirds?

This is a wonderful example of a P-38 Lightning. The Fork Tailed Devil. Every year the Chino Planes of Fame air museum has an airshow featuring some of the last actual flying warbirds from WWII. It's a fantastic event, just seeing these legends in the air.

Really nice. You captured the prop movement. It almost looks like a model. :judge: :judge:  :goodpost:

Thanks. Yes I did get the prop movement, and Its not easy. Slow shutter speed with a fast moving object. But with a couple thousand shots, I manage to get a few good ones!

Love the WWII planes... that is one I have not seen flying as of yet... Great Capture...

How slow a shutter speed and I take it you are panning with the flight of the plane.... I know, dumb question, being the plane is in such great focus...

The shutter speeds I use are typically 1/200 or slower, depending on the angle and speed of the plane. Yes, I am panning, and after many years of practice, and literally thousands of photos I can now count on a few photos like this. My sucess rate would go up with a higher shutter speed, but that freezes the props, which is a no no when capturing images of planes in flight. A good subject to practice with is birds. Smaller, and fast, they will help you improve your timing and technique. ;)
