The trick with fire shots is to get some of the details of the wood retained. These are cool shots (cool?) but I'd like to see a bit more details in the dark areas. I think you could have afforded a slightly longer shutter speed or wider aperture for these shots and still have stayed within range.

Do you shoot RAW? If so, you should be able to bring back some of the darks.

Ya I do shoot in raw and have some with good detail of the wood but it wouldn't let
Me up load them last night I'm going to be all over it like white on rice tonight

You need to show details in the wood and dark areas, by doing this u let the fire stand out as powerful image in the photo. Gotta give the photo some emotion, don't just leave it plain fire, bring out them beautiful details all over, like u painting a canvas, bring out its beauty... I suggest using manually all times to have control of the exposures...

I never even thought about using it manually. Plus i wish i had my tripod since i have a shakey hand at times
