How many shots did that take to complete? How often did you take a photo to get it? I seen there were some images closer together and some video...though it was very cool!!!

I had the camera taking photo every 60 seconds.. the "video" in vegas was actually the cameras burst mode.. 10 frames in 1 second.. the total was about 5000 11mp images.. :)

5000 wow ...not sure I would wanna handle that many images for one project lol. It turned out great. Did you go for something else and bring your camera or go for the project?

It just proves that Interstate Highways are boring.

BTW I've been on almost all of those roads at one time or another over the past 35 years.

Boring? No way! Wel yeah, the eastern half of the trip is a bit bland..

I travelled to California for actually business, but turned the event into a family vacation.

The sheer number of images was daunting at first, but the final product was made with Google Picasa.
I've got to say, I've used Picasa before and was not impressed, but this latest iteration is AMAZinG.

Interesting idea but It seemed jerky which made it kind of hard to watch. The major has a point, it isn't a lot different than a day's commute, this is just a lot of days in more places than what I ever drove in a day. Maybe photographing longer segments and stretches of highway with more varying scenery along the way would give more of a sense of the places traveled.

The shutter went off once every 60 seconds.. The point was not really about the art of showing varying landscapes. but more about showing how incredibly vast north america can be.. I drove from hamilton to Denver in one shot (that's 30 odd hours without rest).

I guess I was trying to convey motion, distance, time.. rather than flowing beauty..

either way: buy a gopro.. they're awesome!

We drove straight through from Huntsville, AL to Tacoma, WA back in 1980. Just about killed us, but we were young, and had a deadline to meet.
