The statue isn't a person, and the building isn't really the subject, so I figured this image went here.

Reactions and observations welcome.

Looks cool. Only thing is I think it's leaning a little.

Let's see, you have the lines from the two pipes on the building, and then the difference in textures (shinny statue vs course brick).  I like the shot, it's interesting.

I don't like to criticize but I will a bit with this one. To much depth of field. The statue appears to be the focal point and the sharp background is a distraction.

I agree. This actually has some (post) lens blur on the building, but I want more. It will take some more PP work ( ) to get it looking good. I also want George's details to pop more. So back to the 'shop.

And, of course, it's leaning. This is how LR5 adjusted it, but some more tweaks are called for.

Thanks for your candor!  Appreciated.  I think I've got a good idea here, but it needs more work.

Someone break out the blur tool and let's see how  this would look with shallow DOF.  I find it to be an interesting shot, but will stand in line with the DOF statements.

Move to the right so the statue is in front of one background, in other words the statue should be between the windows and not have a window casing coming out of his head.

:agree:  with all of the above. Since I"m going to work on blurring the background I might as well fix the composition while I'm at it. I'll post an updated version here when I get it done.

Thanks all!

Nice photograph, at first glance it looks almost surreal. Just the way the colour and the greys are in the bricks. Overall good composition but I agree with above and with the suggestion of tinkering with the position and also the DOF. if the lines are a little bit more straight and geometric looking it could look interesting (I'm not sure exactly how it would look, it could turn out terrible) but its potentially pleasing to the eye.

Nice shots!

agree. dof and the position has to improve. you can experiment with the lines as well.
