This shot is for John Landolfi

My wife and I were up in Seattle this past weekend for the first time and had the opportunity to met some very friendly people, amazing art, history on Seattle and much more.

One of our favorite stops was the "Chihuly Garden and Glass".  If you ever make it up to Seattle, right under the "Space Needle" is an art museum and sculpture garden show casing the work of Dale Chihuly.  I would consider this definitely a MUST SEE while in Seattle.

I'll be posting more photos shortly.  In the mean time... this shot is for our friend John!

Chihuly is one of my favorite artists.  He had a show some years ago in the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.  All of his pieces were placed outdoors among the flowers and in the water gardens.  It was spectacular!

It's about 4.5-5ft in diameter. After forming each element, they are assembled using some molten glass to bind.

Here's links too some more images of his work in the Seattle Center:

He has done that in several botanical gardens. It was a big hit here in Atlanta. I've seen similar images from other cities. Probably used the same pieces. Glass blowing fascinates me. My wife and I collect blown glass. We try to get a piece every place we go on trips. We have pieces from a couple of artists with works displayed in the Smithsonian.
