Fisherman comments and critique

Hey Guys
Pleas share your thoughts on the photo?
I am not sure about the composition; I did crop slightly from the top and left sides but not much, also did a little sharpening and increased the saturation to give the color a little more punch.

The out of focus rock in the lower right corner is very distracting.  Next time hold the camera higher, or move it up to the rock, to get that rock out of the frame.

Thanks Kelly

How about cropping it out...
I hoped that the rock in the lower right would bring more depth to the photo...

Depending on what is below the fisherman, I would prefer to see the foreground with the fisherman in the upper left power point. The bald blue sky doesn't add anything to the image so I would eliminate as much of it as possible. It's hard to know exactly what to do without being there. You may want to try a slower shutter speed to obtain some blur and give a sense of motion. Do both for a different feel and choose the one you like. Overall a nice image and exposed well.

Sorry, but further cropping will not save this.  Cropping the bottom will cut off the figure's legs, very bad.  Cropping the right will eliminate most of the nice surf, plus center the figure, which weakens the overall composition.  Sometimes yah just gotta re-shoot.

How about this version?

I like how you captured the waves splashing the rocks.  For me, shaving off a little of the top in exchange for more of the foreground would be interesting.  And level off the horizon in the back.

Better.  Now I would crop a little off the left side for better balance.  Plus clone out the bit of blur in the far lower right corner.
