My FIRST RAW image edited in Photoshop !!

I know that this is FAR from perfect but I wanted to show you what I did today. I never thought this would be possible but you have all been so helpful, kind and encouraging. Our son came to visit today so he helped me to get started but I did the edit after he left. I did have some trouble when I worked on the second one, it didn't save right so it's among the Missing..... Robbie, I'm definately going to look further into the links you sent me cause the way I had to open this up, etc. in Camera Raw was a little confusing to me-probably the other will be too but what the heck, I might as well try it, Right? (Wow, that was a long sentence...) Ohhh, I did have a little help on this-after I posted it to fb my friend David (not our David) took out a dead tree for me while I was stuck at work. Anyway..... what do you think?? :)

Congratulations, you are better than me. I just started shooting in RAW and nothing I have tried to edit has been worth saving. You did a wonderful job on editing this shot.

I think you did well, that's a really nice photo and I wouldn't have known it was the first one you edited from a RAW image. I haven't tried it yet myself.

Nice picture. What did you change from the original photo SOOC? Can you show the original so we can compare the two?

I think you did very well Shanna-Marie. Camera Raw is a very powerful editing tool.
For us IR shooters it's a must to shoot Raw.
There is lots of help on YouTube and Google.

Thank you all so much, I really appreciate your comments! I don't know that I have a knack for this Rich-I think I just got lucky with this one. Robbie, I shot in RAW for about a year only to find out what I thought I was doing in the processing was totally backwards, Lot's of wasted time..... (I'm such an idiot sometimes)
Thank you for looking at my photos Robin, that's very kind of you.
David, I'm gonna try something-if it works you'll see the original, if not you'll see a black hole or something (if that happens I'll read the link you dropped off and try it again.) Heck, I'll read it anyway cause I Really need to learn this stuff! :)
Here is the original.....

OMG...it worked! Whoo Hoo! :woohoo:

Shanna, you done did good here.... nice color balance. Was there a lot of post editing from the RAW image?

I have been shooting in raw almost constantly for over a year now. The hardest part is selecting which photos to focus on editing from amongst the hundreds of shots I take sometimes.
