Please tell me what you think. I shot manual mode, shutter speed 1/400, f5,6, ISO 640 and somwhere around 70mm .

Thank you for looking and commenting,

Why iso 640 it seems high for a daylight photo, would have used iso200 maybe 400 with a smaller f stop and a slower speed for something like this.
Its a lovely scene but needs a bit more detail in the trees.

I like it. :judge:

Did you get there before the sunrise? I'm wondering what the effect on the trees would have been like if you shot maybe ten minutes later when there was more light on the trees.

Hi guys. Thanks for your comments. This picture was frustrating for me technically to take. I did try a variety of ISO's, shutter speeds and f stops. In the beginning of the set, I over exposed and blew all the highlights. I then underexposed everything. I had white balance on cloudy, and ended up with very yellow images. I think I should have changed my metering to something else other than evaluative. Anyway, I had to do a lot of adjustments in CS5 when I was aiming for a usable image SOOC.

Charles, lol. I was late for work because I stopped in the first place..LOL!

I kind of like the way the sun's hitting the top of the ridge and reflected in the river below. Maybe it was tricky for the camera to read the light in more or less half the image. (And I never had a drive to work this scenic!)

Shh, don't anybody tell her boss!

Thank you icepics!

Can you say whereabouts you are? I live in Clarington, OH, and work across the river in Paden City, WV.

This is the view from the Ohio side of the river looking into WV, up on Kiedasch Point.

Nice shot Marie, lol, I have the same problem sometimes. I'm so easily distracted, getting to work on time is a chore. So many photo ops on the way......
Rich, That is an Awesome picture, you are very handsome my friend. ;) Love Marie's comments too, lol ! :)

Aren`t you shooting Raw?Guess not!!Agreed with David on the high iso and the 5.6 f-stop.
Next time try bracketing and use ec starting at +.3 to open the shadows.
Your second shot is breathtakingly beautiful.love it.

Thank you, robbie.

Ha! I do shoot and work with RAW images all the time, so you guessed wrong! lol. As a matter of fact, when I opened RAW, I "cooled" the temperature to where it reflected what my "eye" saw. I do some sharpening, changed temps, (didn't think to change WB! agh!)

I will try your suggestions next time. Thank you for taking the time to offer them.
