...for this shot I would have tried to get as high an angle as possible to get a sense that the statue is looking towards the camera (I would have a least tried to get that sort of shot).
IMHO what makes a photo stand out (assuming the exposure is correct) is:
1. lighting
2. angles
3. framing
In this case your lighting is fine, the angles and framing could do with some work.
Overall it's a pretty good photo, just not great. I think you can do better (I've seen you do better). Keep at it though, you're progressing very fast.
I'm just being a bit harsh on this photo as I known you're the type who wants to learn. It's a good photo overall.
Don't worry I do exactly the same thing to my own photos (criticize them) it's good to help you grow
