San Diego Bay

12 years 5 months ago #167701 by ClickAPic
I took the shot of San Diego Bay this afternoon and did not expect to much since the sun was still fairly high in the sky. When I brought the shot up on the PC, I found I like the reflecting light on the buildings. Do you think it works? Is the lighting to strong?

Thank you for your comments and suggestions.

I like the lighting well enough, but this shot seems to lack a subject.

Agree with SN. I would zoom in on 1 or 2 of those buildings to give the shot more structure.

I would go for one of the sailboats with a building as a background... Easy to say but it might be a tough swim to get closer if you don't have a longer lens...

I like the shot BTW. :judge:  :woohoo:

Lack a subject?
The city, the buildings are the subjects.

It was taken with my longest lens - 70mm - 200mm. I'm glad you like it!

I was going for the skyline.. the facts that the boats are there was a bonus. Should skylines have on building on which the shot is framed?

I said A subject not "subjects". This shot either needed more zoom to focus on something interesting, or to go wider to make the whole of the skyline the subject. Right now it's kinda in-between.

No offense to the OP, but this guy seemed not to understand what I was talking about. :rolleyes

I like the shot... maybe a little more zoom, but with the lens you were using.... Ya can't have it all...

I think if you cropped off the two buildings left and right this would be lovely :judge: :judge: :judge: :judge:
