Artistic photo of New York City cab at night

12 years 5 months ago #173114 by Alex
I took this photo while in NYC last month and a couple weeks ago posted a Photoshop Tip from Gavin Hoey: www.photographytalk.com/forum/editing-an...-effect-in-photoshop

This was the results that I had from playing around with this idea. I do believe I changed some of the settings Gavin had used to suit the look I was after.

Anyway... let me know what you think.

I really like this treatment! It has kind of an 'other worldly' look to it! :judge:

The only thing that bothers me is the left hand colors are so much lighter than the right hand side, its not a complaint as I realy like the photo, just wonder what it would look like if the colors were similar across the photo still giving it :judge: :judge: :judge: :judge: :judge: :judge: :judge:

:agree:

I also like the photo... but i think it would look better with a less drastic change in colour. keep the effect that youve done with changing the light level on each section, just perhaps start out with a darker colour than the bright grey you have now?

its hard to say though... if you have the time it would nice to see side by side comparison of the light start vs a darker start...

I think the glossy / plastic / wet look to the left side of the shot is fun. Not so much the right side.

I would have made the cab a little bit less artistic with the rest of the picture as it is supposed to be the focal point.
