Nanjemoy Creek

This is a creek I fish a lot. It feeds into the Potomac River a few miles south of Washington D.C. This was a Saturday morning in the summer of 2011. My son & I toke my little boat out fishing.

The first one is very peaceful!

I love the second one, but the branch drags my eye from your son and his catch. :(

Thank you.
I hate that branch! It's part of the tree we were tied to..... blah blah blah... anyway, I agree the branch is a problem.

I'll bet you and your son had a wonderful time, that's a good size fish he's holding up there. I agree with Dori, but it's times like these that are what it's All about.... That's What's Important. :)

I am wanting to tell you about use of a fill flash - especially when shooting into the sun. If the goal was to make a silhouette then the branch becomes a big problem. It looks like a lovely spot to fish and really that is a pretty big whopper... :judge: :judge: :judge:

The silhouette happened by accident. I was really trying to get my son & his catch. After getting home & seeing it "full size", I liked the silhouette & was wishing we had untied so the branch wasn't seen. BTW, this was shot with my little P&S. I never take my Canon out on the boat.

This place is a honey hole! A lot of people pass this spot up for whatever reason. We tie off to a fallen tree & get catfish like crazy. Only problem, as you can see, the tree gets in the way!

The first one seems a tad under exposed for the sun to still be in the sky. Otherwise it's a good shot. The one with your son holding the nice catch great capture but the tree in the background is distracting.
