Went back to my hometown not too long ago and got a few shots of some murals painted on buildings.

I'm not at all familiar with the Holga / Instagram school of photography. But I'd say these are pretty effective.

Thank you. Unlike a lot of people now that just use a cell phone to do stuff like that I studied film and the like in college. I've always loved the look of lomography and black and white film. I use a holga every now and then but that was done with my regular camera and made to look that way. I know it isn't for everyone and a lot of people don't like the dark contrast filled photos but ever since I learned how to do high contrast in a darkroom I've been in love with it!

I've put in my time in darkrooms. But I never got that creative. Like any respectable artist, shoot for yourself. Don't let the pols get you down.

Thank you <3 any time that I am doing things just for me I do whatever I want and what I like. I am still me when doing things for others I just try to tone it down a bit lol. I hate that everything is digital now but I guess sometimes you just have to roll with it. I still keep my 35mm close by though because in my opinion nothing will ever beat the look and feel of film. Thats one of the main things I love about photography, because people will either love it or hate it but either way it made them look. And I appreciate the fact that you respect it even if it's not necessarily your cup of tea. More people need to learn that just because it's not their preference doesn't mean it's a bad photo, it's just not for them and that is fine. You can't please everyone!!

Oh and I hate instagram, too many people now think that just because they can use an app on their phone means they are a photographer. You have to understand where it comes from first.

I don't even have an iPhone, so I've never used Instagram. The label Holga / Instagram came to me as I was struggling with how to describe this faux color style. No doubt Holga / Instagram was a poor choice of words on my part. My apologies if that caused you any teeth gnashing.

Haha not at all, I totally understood. I've never used instagram either, I don't quite get the point. But I do love my Holga. Toy cameras have always facinated me!
