How to improve this shot?

Be careful Scotty they may be killer ducks.

I love this shot Scotty.  I liked the ones in the older thread too ;)  the haze and softness in the background under the bridge work and highlight the image.  I personally don't mind the ducks, I think they add to the photo.

Given the recent rabbit hole on grammar and the English language, I can't help but wonder if posts like these are intentional.

The original shot really needed to be a grad or HDR to tame the sky.  As it stands, I would like to see more contrast for everything below the sky.

You are not the first person to ask for more contrast :).

Your posted image (so we don't have to go back and forth)

and here is a, slightly, altered version to talk about. I put a graduated filter on the sky/trees (much better to use a grad on the lens as Kelly suggested) and neutralized the white balance on the bridge for shade to give the low sun some fire.

I actually like it a lot.  Glad you jumped in.  Was looking for your insight.

Like the colors a lot more.

I wish I could shoot this shot again.   It was about 2 years ago I believe, and it was over 100 degrees F that morning.   The bridges got torn down unfortunately and replaced with ones not as appealing.

I have a small nitpick which I should probably do when I re-edit it.   I believe the bridge is too sharpened.

Then you're really going to dislike what I do to it.

Scotty one of my favorite shots of yours.  I'm digging Gary's version, I like the cooler tones on the back side and then the vibrant orange on the belly of the bridge.

William, I'm also leaning towards your fist edit, as with Gary's version you have this burning orange that works for me and the railings have some nice detail to them.
