This is my second picture working with Lightroom. I thought it would look nice as a black and white. I also learned to remove people. So cool!

Neat subject and composition!  The beach sand/gravel is a little dark, which tells me the exposure needs to be moved up a little.  Unless this is supposed to be at night?  Altering the exposure kind of changes everything.  So it's hard to say what other adjustments would be beneficial after that.

Great subject. Lots of tension in the position of that tree.

It looks great in black and white. It's got an Ansel Adams feel. Therefore the tonal values should be better. I find the darker areas too dark.

Agreed, is that from St. Martins? Or hopewell rocks? It looks like St. Martins to me but I can't be sure :P anyways, good job and keep up the work :)

I agree with you all regarding the exposure and tonal, thank you! I adjusted the exposure up  a bit and tried to bring a little more clarity, but I'm still not satisfied with the result.

Get'in there.  I would deepen the blacks.  And the bright lower cloud mass could use a mask and some brushwork.
