Tamron vs Sigma lenses?

For aftermarket lenses, which of these two is the best?

Hmmm... tough choice. I like both of these lenses. I have tried the 18-55 2.8 by tamron and 70-200m 2.8 sigma. Both are great and I love them both.

But i think tamron has a 10 year warranty on each of their lenses which maybe an edge for tamron. :)

I think it may come down to which lens you are looking for. Dig around the net for reliable reviews for whatever type of lens you are looking into. I have just acquired a sigma 50mm f1.4 and it is very sharp and seems well made. I have a 70-300 (very cheap) tamron that has some decent sharpness for the money but is pretty slow focusing and has some serious chromatic aberration problems.

Solstar has some good points. Between the two I would go with the Sigma.

Every manufacturer has a "consumer" & a "pro" line of lenses...Make sure you are comparing apples to apples when doing your comparisons...

Thank you guys, this really is a big help. Let me ask the question another way. What are the "con's" to either of these lenses?
