Creating Infrared images using I-Ray Infrared Filter?

7 years 4 months ago #507262 by Tim Kelley
Who's used this filter before?   www.singh-ray.com/shop/i-ray-infrared-fi...&utm_campaign=590-ir

So will this do what IR conversions did in the past?

Sounds like the Hoya R 72 IR pass filter I used to use on my Nikon D70s about 10 years ago, except that the 690 allows for false color images....  ...Only difference is that , the Hoya was a 720 nm filter which is in between the powers of their offerings.  The R72 only gave B&W images after the red & blue color channels were swapped in post.

Sure beats the cost of an IR conversion on your camera!

I'm assuming that editing in post is needed when using these filters ?

EDIT;
 Yes, post processing is needed just like it is with the Hoya R 72. SOOC, the R 72's images were red. Then you had to desaturate  them, just like these filter need. Hoya's filter will cost a lot less than Singh-Ray's will

Now that is interesting.  I always wanted to get involved in IR photography.  However didn't want to convert a camera over.  Filter is big difference in cost and commitment!  :thumbsup:
