Benro Aureole: Modular 3-In-1 Drop-in Filter??

2 years 3 weeks ago #735495 by Travis Brunson
What do you know about Benro filters?  It thought these guys made just tripods, and honestly I could have sworn their tripods are on the cheaper quality side of things.  This filter system looks pretty slick if you ask me.

Care to drop some thoughts on it?

Now that you gave us a reference link we can understand what you are talking about. Previously I thought you meant the front drop in filters.

So I know nothing about these filters from Benro. They have not been created yet if it is on kickstart correct? so how can we know what they are like? How much do they cost compared to the competition?

Canon already makes drop in filters for it's system. There are companies out there that make them for that system. Look to the bottom of the page.

I have some of these drop in filters. I have Kase clip in filters and the Canon drop in system. They all seem to work well.

There are other companies that do this adapter and drop in filters

The only downside to this type of system is some special application filters will lose infinity focus.   If the filter glass is thick (in cheaply made filters) they will cause distortion, softness and vignetting on wide angle lenses in the corners, more than standard filters that go on the front of the lens so they have to be good filters.

I have clip ins that go over the sensor and that go in the EF-RF adapter.

Interesting concept although most filter effects can be duplicated in post. Not IR and Kolari  is better known for their IR pass filter line. I seldom use filters and I had an Olympus OMD converted to IR by LifePixel, thus all I use anymore is maybe a polarizer or an ND

I have a clear night filter, and a Kolari swirly bokeh filter, a CP and a couple ND. The great thing about this concept is that you only need one filter for any lens, regardless of the front filter size of the lens. No redundant filters or step up rings.
