Any of you try one of these? How do they work? Can you really channel the light well with these?

I had one that was given to me a few years back, however I lost it. The unit clipped on my flash and did work like a charm. Kind of like a bunch a straws glued together to channel the light.

I got my hands on the Harbor Digital 1/8" and 1/4" spot with adapter and have to say these things are handy! Here are a couple shots just to illustrate how you can really control the light from your flash. These shots were taken only to show how you can control the light, so disregard the composition of the photo. I used the 1/4" spot with a red gel on flash located 3' up on stand near passenger rear wheel.

You can pin point your light:

Or go wide with it:

I just looked on their site and they have kits for a number of camera flashes.

What difference would the 1/8" make? Thanks for sharing the photos.

These will create a controlled direction from the light, but can also create hard light.
