Reliable rechargeable battery for flash?

8 years 8 months ago #454376 by tejbon
I'm done with non rechargeables.  These are just to expensive.  What's a good rechargeable battery brand that works good with Nikon flash guns?

Duracell's are just crappy for these devices.  There, I've vented.

Hello Tejbon,
There's two things that will eat some batteries, that's kids & cameras! I've been using rechargeable for a while now but I can say the old ones we're OK, not great but OK. Anyways I recently switched to the current gen  Panasonic Eneloops. 2 kinds of them the white for regular devices & will work in flashes / cams & the black which cost a little more but have 25~30% more capacity. Also the "stock" charger they provide when them is great. Takes some time but gives a much better charge than previous ones I had that quick charged the batteries.

Eneloop Whites @ Amazon
Eneloop Pro @ Amazon

Either or I think you will like them plus they have great reviews. Let us know how you like them!

One word: Eneloops

Okay, more words. I bought 2 four-paks and a charger to power my SB-600 (my primary flash). They're awesome, charge quickly, last a long time. At some point I may need to buy more, and will not hesitate.

I have the white. 2000 charging cycles is an extremely large number for their very modest price.

I too have the latest whites, the one thing I forgot to mention other than saving huge $ is that the charger is awesome. Being able to charge odd numbers of batteries is a bonus my old chargers wouldn't do that & you wouldn't believe the number of kids toys that take odd numbers.....
