I just bought one of these lights and it's awesome.  But how in the world do you know the battery life of it?

All electro-chemical compounds have a nominal voltage.
Built in a battery, the unit has another value: a capacity
expressed in A/h — or fraction of.

There is not way to establish the life span of a battery that
is dependant of the construction quality of the cells within.

Voltage may be increased by adding cells in series in a bat-
tery and capacity by adding batteries in parallel in a packs.

In serie   @  1 A/h:  1.5V + 1.5V + 1.5V + 1.5V = 6V @ 1A/h
In parallel @ 1 A/h: 1.5V + 1.5V + 1.5V + 1.5V = 1.5V @ 4 A/h

For those interested

Putting cells of different voltage in a pack will give no more
tension than the weakest cell in terms of voltage.

Putting cells of different charges in a pack will give no more
power than the weakest cell in terms of A/h of fraction of.

I'm sorry, I'm referring to quick check when  using it to know how much battery charge is left.

Ok… if a voltage meter is not provided in the unit in use,
you're left with a fastidious capacity detection protocol.

To save time and worries, I suggest you have two freshly
charged power pack at the beginning of a session.

Mine just arrived 2 weeks ago.  Super bright light and very durable!  Good question about the battery life, I have no clue!
