Westcott Rapid Boxes

6 months 1 week ago #674213 by Todd Floyd
I'm near the point of pulling the trigger on a couple of these rapid boxes, however I have come across some new information that the Bowen brackets are not reliable and can be a weak point.  What other soft box that is quick to set up and take down would you suggest?

I appreciate the help.

Is any softbox quick to set up and put away?

Not in my experience.

Since the mount seems trivial to the entire process, one might consider the overall task. I have a couple of mounts, and neither is more convenient. The hard part about a softbox is getting the ribs in and out of the ring. IMNSHO.

That said, I have a Westcott box and am very happy with it.

Probably not much help here.

Do you have one of their Rapid boxes?

Sorry, no, just a regular shallow Studio Softbox (3x4) with the mount for a Buff Digibee.

On a side note, does that light have a remote to it?

BTW thank you!

Buff has their own wireless remote system (which Commander can also control the lights), which I use. But they can also be triggered by any receiver that uses a 1/8" cable (which I used before getting the Buff system). It's all on their site, all a la carte.
