Also it can get hot (not so much of a problem if you use LED/fluorescent lighting, which is becoming pretty standard these days.
One thing they do well is let you see what the lighting will look like before shooting, sometimes flashes/strobes are a bit hit and miss... especially when they misfire.
Very true S/N, but they are adjustable in intensity so surely adjustments could be made to allow for ambient light ???
