continuous lighting

One of my favourite photographers Damien Lovegrove uses continuous lighting, ie: Lupos, Arris and Lowells, mostly in his portraits outside and inside and sometimes at weddings, I am thinking of upgrading to the Lupos but would like your opinions first.

I'm still trying to figure out my little speedlight that came in the mail a few days ago...

Do you have any links handy on these lights?

Constant lighting can interfere with ambient lighting in some situations.

Also it can get hot (not so much of a problem if you use LED/fluorescent lighting, which is becoming pretty standard these days.

One thing they do well is let you see what the lighting will look like before shooting, sometimes flashes/strobes are a bit hit and miss... especially when they misfire.

Very true S/N, but they are adjustable in intensity so surely adjustments could be made to allow for ambient light ???
