Outdoor lighting and fill flash?

13 years 2 weeks ago #52635 by Rathers
I mostly do outdoor photography, i try to keep my equipment minimal, i use my camera and reflectors...i know that alot of people choose to use an external flash as a fill flash but i just can't see myself doing that...is it wrong to only use the natural light outside?

I'm just a newbie, so I know nothing about lighting or flash but why not use natural light. I mean people do it all the time, as in everyone who has a camera to snap pictures (including myself), use natural light.

Natural lighting outdoors is fine, some people use fill in flash to avoid certain problems such as shadows on the face if the sun is behind the subject, but it isnt compulsory, I have seen many beautiful outdoor photographs without the use of any flash, so stick with it if you are happy with your results.

:agree:

If you get the results you want, keep doing it. But don't be afraid to explore .... you open new doors that way.

No matter how fast I go, there's always someone slower in front of me.
