Grabbed these yesterday, outside my front door, between bursts of rain.

Yes, indeed. It's really fun to take pictures of tiny, tiny things.

Your shooting with the nikon 105mm macro right? I've been looking at the tokina 100mm.

Great shots, I really enjoy seeing your work Gary.

Your a role model for me to improve my photography.

The Tokina is a good lems, but also look at the Sigma 105 2.8 and the Tamron 90 2.8. Also stellar macro lenses!

Alright, I'll take a look at those as well, thanks for the tips effron! What would be the differences in the lenses that would prove one to be more superior than another, other than the obvious focal length. From what I can see they all seem to be fairly identical.

You're very kind. Thank you.

Yes, this is the Nikon Micro Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 lens. I acquired it used.

Lens differences include general image quality, chromatic aberration at wide and narrow apertures, auto-focus performance (the lens can be used for more than just macro, of course). Then there's build quality and reliability.

I have an older Tamron that I find outstanding, but I realize not every lens is the same. Research the lenses and decide your trade-offs. Good luck.
