Thanks for commenting! It's not really just a rock, but a mineral aggregate of some sort. And, very reflective. The light came from the illumination in the case.:cheers:

Cool!  And interesting.  Is there strong backlight?  Are there different color lights in the case? Or are parts of the "rock" absorbing/reflecting different frequencies?

btw, clicking the image doesn't go to Flickr.  Clicking on "Harvard-Minerals-No1" does.  :huh:

Thanks, Bob! As above, the lights were in the display case for what I think is Tanzanite. But it's been a while since I took the shot, so I don't really know. The reflectivity of the object was the problem, to get detail despite it. I've been looking through some film strips, and I started scanning with this one.

Apparently, Flickr changed something, and the old procedure for getting the BB code now gives this. Go figure...
