Eagle in Alaska

I was on a cruise in Alaska for 7 days, this was my 1st time ever shooting birds and I go for the Eagle.  I was on a crab boat when I took this pic and we had about 20 Eagles come down.  This is my fav from all of them but I do have plenty more.  the Eagle was grabbing a fish out of the water.  Took this with my Canon 60D and Sigma 70-200 F2.8

Beautiful shot! Love the water spray and the shadow on the water. Looking forward to seeing more!

I don't usually do this, but too many images all at one time...

I like this one the best. I don't care for the square crop, however, as I'd like to see all of the splash on the left (if you managed to capture it. I also think a rectangular frame implies movement more so than square, but maybe that's just me.

If this was shot RAW I'd like to see more detail brought out on the wings (especially the underside in shadow), the highlights controlled, and the whole image sharpened up. I think it would be awesome.

was my 1st time ever shooting birds so I know they are not perfect but I did the best I could, I know I need more camera time but life just gets to busy at times and this is just a hobby for now.  It was shot in jpg as I feel I am not ready for raw as of yet.

For a first timer BIF shooter, you did very well. I actually like #2 shot...I like more water splash than the first one.
