You'll want to visit Tanzania, I want to say this place has the largest lion population.  I want to say the Mara River is where much of this action is seen.  I have never been, hope to one day.  But only recollecting from watching show after show on Discovery channel.

I go to Kenya a couple of times between September and April, avoiding the rains, and the summer crowds and taking advantage of the dry low grass. Often crossing into the Serengeti and tanzania, although I find the Mara is better,  http://exposuretours.com/blog_mara24.htm l

I see, and when is the rainy season there?  Is that before September or after April?

Although you say this is not a great shot I have to disagree.  I think some of the most fantastic shots are those that are natural and not the perfect moment, perfect lighting, perfect post production.  These shots are in that category.  I wish I had the resources to get these kind of photographs.  Keep on doing what your are doing and thanks for sharing.

Joe - speaking of documentaries, did you see the show talking about the important role that buzzards have on the eco system there? Well worth the watch, it's amazing how the animal eco systems truly is a 360 circle, from the disgusting to the king of the jungle.
