Fierce!  I can't imagine how intenses a fight between two large cats light that must be in person.  Is that something you see often while out there?

Not that often in the same species actually although between lions its more common than an other cat. Probably only once in every 2-3 safaris

We have 3 cats in my house with one cat who is not friendly with others and has lead to some fights.  I can’t even image such large cats going at it.  Exciting photo OP

A couple of females had made the kill but the male wouldnt allow them to eat until he was done so it was just a quick dominance challenge encounter and the female backed off

Does the female usually bring the meals into the pride or will the males do some of the kitchen leg work?

The males tend not to hunt unless they are alone or there are no females around

Really?  This is what fascinates me about nature.  Now this relates to their pride correct?  If a lion wanders into another pride, he can't help himself to their spoils without proving himself?

It relates to lion prides yes. A male lion would never wonder into a pride, he would go in knowing he has to challenge the male or find a female on her own.  A single female could wonder into to a pride group and would likly be welcomed by the other members
