Hello From Kansas

Hi...my name is Shannon and I live in a small town in Kansas. I have always enjoyed photography...starting at a young age. I have taken photography/darkroom classes in the past and had a very nice film camera--when digital hit I still used my film camera along with digital point and shoot cameras. I now FINALLY have a nice DSLR and I am looking forward to using it. I have been looking around this site and I am excited to learn more and more. I am going to explore and utilize this site. One question...what exactly are Photopoints and what are they used for???
thanks!

Hello. I'm new here also. I don't think the points are for anything.....yet.

I haven't paid any attention to the points. I did live in Salina for a bit, over half a century ago!

It's like on that TV show, "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" The points don't matter. Other than keeping track of who posts the most during each week.

Welcome to the forum Shannon, Yeah I had pretty much the same progression as you. I shot with my Pentax MX and several different digital P&S cameras till the Dslrs got better, and I have not looked back, and do not miss film the least bit.
Yeah as has been said on points they I guess are like some grading system for activity. But I look at it like I do at other forums in that you are not your post count. Quality is always better than quantity.
