New to PT

6 years 10 months ago #530998 by pher48
Hello from Pennsylvania! I am new to PT and would like to share some of my photos and improve my photography skills. I have been taking astronomy and nature photos for several years now and would like to expand to other areas such as landscape photography. Many of the photos that I have seen on this site are simply breath taking! Thank you for this opportunity.

Welcome to the community.  I'm originally from upstate NY, just north of you.  Do travel much to NY?

Thank you for making PhotographyTalk.com your photography community of choice.

Thank you Alex, I've been through NY many times, for business and many vacations to Niagara Falls. I have also lived in Columbus, OH and Michigan City, IN when I was much younger. Now, I have pretty much settled down, almost retired, in Northwest Pennsylvania.

Hi Tony, I live in Northwestern PA, midway between Erie and Pittsburgh, surrounded by farmland and forests. I love this quiet area, and live only a couple of miles from Pymatuning State Park. I love bicycling on the rural roads and stop here and there for a photo shoot. I hope to see you again on PT. Thank you!

Hi Rudy, Yes, there are many covered bridges in this area There are probably 20 or more in a 25 mile radius. That's a great idea for a photo opportunity! Thanks

Hi Justin and Thank you. The last photos I took, earlier today, were several closeups of Ruby Throated hummingbirds which I have already uploaded to PT. This evening, during my bike ride, I stopped to photograph a sunset but a heavy thunderstorm was approaching to the South and I could not stick around to get the photo I wanted. Better luck next time!
