New lens coming soon! Nikon 85mm f/1.4 or Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 ??

I think it's time for a new lens to join my camera bag. I'm just on the fence with which of these lenses should I get first. Each of these lenses I could find a strong need for with the type of photography that I enjoy. It's just figuring out which I should get first?

So if you were in my shoes and both were a equal match, which would you get first?

How about a 24-70 AND a SIGMA 85 1.4?!

Tricky.
They are different tools for different purposes: If you don't already have a good wide angle zoom, I'd suggest you go for the 24-70. If you do already have one and feel like spoiling yourself, go for the fast 85mm.
I have both and although the novelty of the 85 hasn't yet worn off (I only got it last week), I concede that it is a specialty lens and won't get as much use as my 24-70.
That said, the 85 is a beautiful portrait lens and I've also taken some great motorsport shots with it too. The bokeh is the best I've seen and I'm loving it.
I'll be interested in hearing from some of the more experienced members.
Good luck,
NEIL

I too would go with the 24-70 first, it is a great walk around lens.
