looking for high ISO

I currently shoot with D300s, and 70% of the time I spend at concert venues, and need high ISO. The ISO of 300 is not enough. So, my question to you all is should I go for D700 or just get me a D3s?

I'm a little confused - the ISO on a D300 will go up to, I think, 3200. You have to set it to manual and then the ISO you want.

What am I missing?

You are correct. He should have plenty of ISO. Original poster - I would recommend picking up a lens like a with a low f stop like 2.8 or even 1.8. You shouldn't need to max out your ISO settings, plus the image will be noisy.

You'll start to get visible noise at ISO 800 with the D300 which can be dealt with in PP, but once you hit ISO 1600 the noise renders the shots so grainy you wouldn't publish it. The D700 and D3 will give you usable shots up to ISO10,000 for the D300, and up to ISO 25,000 (and above!) with the D3. The newer cameras are changing the rules of the game as we knew them - albeit at a hefty price!

What lens are you using? A fast 1.4 like the 85 or 35 1.4G are great and should be good at ISO800 for the concert scene provided you are up close and personal.
