Hi, guys
Has anyone here used both nikon d7000 and d300s before? I'd like to know which one you would pick between brand new d7000 ($1200) and used d300s ($1100, excellent condition, fully function, about 19000 actuations). And why? Thanks

I have the 7000 and my brother in law has the 300s

I would pick the D7000, because of the improved iso, and the double sd mem cards, my brother in law decided to stay with the D300s because there was not enough difference to warrant the expense to change, I went from the D70 so it was a great improvement. The D7000 is new, both are awesome cameras

You will not be judged as a photographer by the pictures you take, but by the pictures you show.

I sold my D300 and bought a D7000. I liked and miss the pro layout of the D300, but I kept my D700 so its not a total change over. The D7000 is lighter, and better in low light, and I would do it again in a second, just a real nice camera.....;)

Why so serious?

Watching this thread pretty close right now....I have thought about taking the plunge for a D300 but then I keep thinking.....for a few dollars more I can get a D7000. Well, not a priority right now, since I have one more term of night school left. And then, get the new body. :)

It is what it is.

I have a D300 and I like it very much. I like the layout of the buttons and the body. Nikon or any other brand will never sell a body that is cheaper but better than another model of their own brand.

Of course the older the model, it would be cheaper but not necessarily not as good.Ultimately, beside body, the lens is something you got to consider. They are much more expensive than the body.
