Nikon D600 already on shelves (spotted in Hong Kong)

Today I saw my first D600 in the wild. I was shocked to see it on the shelf so I took a spy shot.

and here's the price in HKD:

That's a tear inducing $2425 USD (often prices are inflated in HK when a camera first comes out)
and $2964 USD (for the kit).

In perspective, the D800 cost $27000HKD new ($3482usd when first out) and the D800e was inflated to $31,000HKD when i bought mine ($3998USD).

So spot complaining about prices USA people. :p

I like that the Nikon (pronounced Nie-kon) is on the top shelf! ;)

It is what it is.

I must say, this store in HK (Fortress) isn't known for good prices. But right now they'll be pretty much the same in all shops here.

Just realised I posted this thread twice for some reason.

I combined the two.

All I saw in the shot was the Oly gear. Very hard to find Oly M4/3 here in Phoenix now. Didn't used to be that way, funny market.

I'm actually looking into a mirrorless camera to bring with me everyday. Keep the weight down and all that.

I'd buy the new leica M, but I can't afford the $6,900USD asking price. Maybe I'll go for the Leica M-E (also new) which costs $5,500ish. :p

Nah I'll probably just buy a Sony.

I was hoping Canon would adopt the E-mount for their new mirrorless line. Silly me

One day someone will have the guts to challenge Leica too. Maybe Fuji? Maybe Sony?

Fuji is trying. Love my old F45fd, but I wish Fuji would get the bugs out of new sensors before releasing them.

YEh I think they have the bugs worked out now. It wasn't a huge problem considering that it's new sensor tech.

I like the X-Pro1 and the new X-E1 looks interesting. But their video sucks a bit.

Right now I'm thinking of getting a small mirrorless to carry with me all the time instead of the D800/e. THe D800 is fine of course, but it's a bit big and over the top for everyday use.

I'll make a thread about this.
