D100 accessories advice

11 years 3 months ago #270212 by b4d93r
Hi everyone,

Thanks to my awesome wife, I now own the Nikon D100 I've been test driving.

So now I'm taking the money I have saved up and am putting it toward accessories. I can't get a lot right now but I'm interested in getting your thoughts and opinions on two particular items. A shoe mount flash and a shutter release.

For the flash I would at least like one that I can adjust the angle of the flash and be under $100. It doesn't have to be uber awesome but better than the built in one.

As for the remote shutter release, again, nothing really fancy and if possible, wireless.

I have about $120 to spend so if I can find either for under that it would at least get me started.

Thanks
Steve

This would be a totally manual flash, but it is cheap light and light is light. As for the triggers....

And for the light stand...

I have a pro friend that uses this setup all the time on location. She has built up her business to the point where she has better lights now and much better stands and accessories, but she will still pack this setup for her second shooter, and swears by the reliability of the Yongnuo's.

If you are looking for a used Nikon flash, there are several to choose from. Here is the flash compatibility chart for Nikon DSLR's ....

It is what it is.

Thanks for the links. Especially the compatibility one. I had seen that before but couldn't find it yesterday for some reason.

I'll check out that flash. I don;t need anything super awesome (yet) just something better than that crappy built in flash.
