Issue with my D7100 and 3rd party lenses

Hello all I am having what appears to be a strange issue with my D7100.  I have a Sigma 70-300mm DG and a Tokina 100mm f/2.8 that work fine on my D5100 but do not on my D7100.  The Sigma used to work fine on my D7100 then just stopped working.  This issue is around aperture.  It will not correctly identify the setting.  For the Sigma it just shows f/0 no matter what.  For the Tokina which has an aperture ring it sees the apertures as f/0-f/7 instead of f/2.8 - f/32.  I have the rign locked into "auto" mode on the Tokina.  I called Nikon and they basically told me they won't be able to help me since these are 3rd pasty lenses.  I am not sure what to do about this. I have done a firmware "upgrade" and a factory reset neither of which help.  Has anybody seen this or have any ideas what to do?

Thanks!

Sounds like a communication problems... Since it's happening with both lenses, try cleaning the contacts on the camera mount... I assume you have a Nikon lens ?. If so , see if it happens with that lens as well when you mount it...

Only thing that comes to my mind is to make sure the contacts on the camera and lens are clean. HaHa. Scott beat me to it.

I did clean them and I have a few Nikon lenses that all work as expected.  I tried the Tokina and added a "Non CPU Lens" profile for it.  When I use that profile the f stop seems to be correct in M and A mode but in S mode I get the flashing F-- on the display.  The auto-focus doesn't work as it should either.  This all seems a bit weird to me.
