Nikon D800 or D3x?

If you shot a mix indoors and outdoors and were looking for a new camera, which of these would you go with?  I do enjoy shooting some sports, which the D3x will shine over the D800.  But then on the landscapes, the D800 with it's 36MP vs the D3X 24.5MP is a little difference.  This makes a tough choice.  Which would you go with?

What makes you think the D3x will be better with sports?

4fps won't be much worse than the D3x's 5fps and the AF system on the D800 is a bit BETTER than the one on the D3x. The D800 uses the same AF system as the Nikon D4:  Advanced Multi-CAM 3500FX with 51-points (up to 15 cross-type points) with up to f/8 (up to 9 cross-type sensors).

Plus with the D800 you'd get the crop-ability factor.

Question though, why not get a D810 or a D800e?

BTW see my article here for info about how the D800 goes with sports:

I would jump on either one.  If I had to pick, I would go with the D800.  Actually I hope to find a used one this fall.

Unless you really are hellbent on a built in grip and better battery, d800 annihilates the d3x.

D3x is cool, but I would go with the D800 or the D810

In your shoes I'd only consider a D3x if there was a very very good deal on one, but even then I'd probably still go D800.
