Nikon D810 vs Sony A7R II for landscape photography?

7 years 8 months ago #491172 by Eliffman
I'm shopping around for a new camera body.  I'm kind of tempted with the Sony A7RII.  The smaller size and features are impressive.  Only downside is I'll have to get all new lenses or use an adapter.

If you were going to pick either a Sony A7R II or Nikon D810 for landscapes, which would you pick?

Even if I had to start from scratch, I'd get the D810....

Why so serious?

Both have the same sensor made from Sony correct?

That Sony wins on the sexiness factor, but the Nikon will be much more practical, if for no other reason that you might not have to buy all new lenses. But if I had my choice, I'd roll with the Sony.

That Sony is nice, however I'm going to have to go with the D810 on this one.  IMO your going to get a quicker shutter, better ISO and better autofocus.

If your concerned about the size, go with the Sony.  Otherwise, the D810 is the better pick.
