Why are all the camera remotes so huge?   https://www.amazon.com/Pixel-TW-283-DC0-Wireless-300series/dp/B016W3KAVC/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?keywords=Pixel+TW-283%2FDC0+Wireless+Shutter+Release+Remote&qid=1565308430&s=gateway&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&smid=A2RDVNSPRYPCFK&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFHS0dIWTIxMlFVSDQmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA1NzUwNDIxRDQ4WDE5RVlUWTJMJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA3MjgzMTgzV0tESDIxUE5SNDEmd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl

Like that Amazon link!  Sorry about that.  Well that is the shutter release I was looking at, but all them have this huge module that sits on top of the camera!  Isn't there a way to trigger the camera with out having to tie up your hot shoe?

I popped in here to respond with a crazy small remote and now I can't think of the darn thing!  The owner of this site was talking about it a few months ago.  I man, let me go into my favorites and see if I can find it.

If I don't respond, you might want to send him a message.

The receivers usually contain batteries; they don't use the hot shoe for power. They have to be big enough for that, and the antenna. The receiver uses the shoe as a place to sit/stay and be out of the way.

I've dangled my receiver from the cable and used the hot shoe for my wireless flash trigger. Not a problem.
