Using both mirrorless and DSLR?

I love my Nikon D750, but since I picked up my Z7, which has it's own set of lenses, my gear bag has nearly doubled in weight.  I really don't want to get ride of my D750, but almost feel the writing is on the wall.  Not many choices, either I go backwards and ditch the Z platform and stick with the older set up.  Or ditch my D750 and go all in with new.

What did you do?  Are you lugging around two platforms?

G'day Ivy

Nice to hear from you -- and to respond with "yes, been there - done that - and 20 years ago"

But in my case it was from film camera days .. 2-bodies and 4 or 5 lenses up to 1000mm and when I went digital I could not afford a dSLR so I went for a bridge / mirrorless camera. For 3-months I carried both sets of kit around with me until I was 100% happy with the bridge camera and then donated all the old stuff to a local year-12 college that had photographic art as a major in its syllabus

I've used bridge cameras ever since, and to have a damn fine mirrorless / bridge with one lens covering the 18-450mm range (of the dSLR cameras of today) suits me down to the ground

While my experiences are different from yours, I will put my money onto you keeping the mirrorless and trading your dSLR kit for something else. Maybe a holiday to somewhere scenic and warm :)

Hope this helps
Phil

A good friend of mine shoot with no only mirrorless and DSLR, but he still has an old school film Nikon camera as well.  Now what he does is heads out with whatever main kit that he intends to shoot with, and then the second body has just the lens installed, and thats it.

My Camera Bag:

Canon 7D | 50mm f/1.2 | 17-40mm f/4 | 70-200mm f/2.8 | 320EX | 580EXII

I've had my D780 for almost two years, and I have yet to play with it's mirror-less capabilities. :-O

Not here, just mirrorless and I was just asking if mirrorless has surpassed DSLR users yet! Almost everyone I know is using mirrorless these days.
