upgrading from the D200

I want to upgrade from the Nikon D200 I Cannot afford a full frame let’s get that out the way early!(kids and family stuff prohibits it) I am thinking about a new D300s or a second hand D2x. What will be the BEST upgrade? I think the D300s will not be much of an improvement on the 200 but the D2x is a beautiful camera.

Why, in Heaven's name, do you want to "upgrade" from a D200? What have you consistently tried to do, that the D200 failed at, that you would accomplish with a more expensive frame?

Would Da Vinci have produced better pictures with more modern brushes?

Would Hemingway have written better stories with an IBM typewriter?

What do you ant to do with it? Danno above asked a good question - other than suffering from NAS (Nikon Acquisition Syndrome), what can one of those cameras do for you that the D200 can't?

The D300s gives you better AF, a better sensor, and video. The D2x has arguably an inferior sensor, better AF, and a huge increase in frame rate, and is a "professional" body in every sense of the word.

It comes back to

a) what are you going to do with it? and
b) if it's just that you want it (NAS ;) ), just go get it!
