Any experience with buying used lenses?

I have a friend who buys all his lens from KEH.com and Usedcamerabuyer.com most of the time. I think he has bought a couple from Ebay users also. I believe he got a damaged lens once from Ebay, so he doesn't like to purchase there. ShutterGuy wrote:
