FZ1000 View Finder is Jerky...not smooth when moving

3 years 7 months ago #661847 by BlurredLines
I just received my DMC-FZ1000 and one thing I notice is that when I'm looking through the view finder and move the camera around, the output is not smooth as I more the camera around.

Instead, the image seems to jerk or stutter as I move the camera as if there is a slight hesitation.

I'm wondering if this is normal or abnormal?

Probably normal for that camera. Some cameras do have adjustable refresh rates. Check to see if that one does.

Thank you.  Yes it does.  The choices are 30fps or 60fps, but I can't really see a difference when I try them both.

Very well.  Just wanted to make sure there was nothing "wrong" with mine.
The camera takes very nice photos.   Good thing it knows what it's doing.  :-)

Regards

G'day BL

Yes matey - this is a byproduct of the electronics in the viewfinder - and every camera with an EVF will show the same results to some degree or another ~ meaning that the expensive Nikon & Canon mirrorless models behave in the same way

As a mirrorless / EVF user for 15 or so years, I have worked with this without any real issues - it's one of those things you learn to live with as it is outweighed by the other benefits we get from using an EVF camera

Hope this helps
