it´s great photo, well done
with what is said here before. The only thing I´d like to mention is that I tried taking outdoor-portraits using the speedlight 580exII together with a diffusor (white plastic cup) on it.I´ll soon kicked it off the flashlight as it swallows a lot of light you need to brighten up the object.
For indoor-use I don´t want to miss is but outdoor it´s better without it.
When I am doing portraits I mainly use AV-Programm in combination with the aperture wide open.
