Nice location and backdrop. It looks to me like you strictly used natural lighting however, and i find i dislike the shadows on the face. i think the photos would be better with an alternate or additional light source... which would also make that uniform look a whole lot more crisp (and true to life) than it does now... imho

Nice job. These are good photos, though I agree that some fill lighting could have made them even better. I'd also like to see a few with shallower DoF, a blurred background is always nice in portraits.

Nice composition. However, the light should be on his face. He is too much in the shadows. The direction you have him at you should have used a fill light.

Good Luck. Taking him out again will be the 2nd shooting, but be careful how many times you reshoot it, people get bored easily and once that starts to happen it shows in the photos.

You had a nice setting, I like the yellowish leaves in the background. You did well with composition, especially the full length portraits. With some of the other poses you might next time see what looks best, maybe frame him from above the belt to above the hat etc. - it helps to be aware of where you're cutting a subject off.

It can help to notice the trees behind him so the branches frame him and don't end up looking like they're growing out of his head - you seemed to do pretty well with that but at least one I noticed has the tree almost directly behind him. Either moving him a step or two one direction or the other could work, or just move yourself til you get what you want in the viewfinder. I think too the eye tends to focus on the subject, I found that I learned to make my eye move around and look at everything in the viewfinder/on the screen since that's what willl be in your photo.
