Thank you! This baby was NOT happy about Mommy trying to pose him! I noticed the baby's foot just yesterday :( Dang it! I'll keep that in mind about the moms arms next time! Thanks for your advice!

Guess that's one thing working with infants, we're on their schedule more than they're on ours! I think this young they respond more to mom and aren't yet engaging with other adults a lot to try to elicit smiles etc. like could be done with an older baby. If they're in a position that doesn't feel real secure to them or they're not happy with whatever the circumstances are, that can show it in their faces and I don't know really that edits or techniques can help much with that.

I mean if the baby's been crying or fussing or feeling distressed it's probably going to show in their face. With a newborn it wouldn't be like with an older infant where you could get them to smile or laugh, so it might work better to get a photo with the baby sleeping or cuddling w/mom etc. where they're more likely to look contented.

:agree: for me it is hard to work with infants I dont feel extremely comfortable and it comes out in the photos and the kids know it too and that also can stress them out.

but as far as the the current photo I LOVE IT. I have done this style with my own boys and most of my "critics" aka family have loved them as well.

the only thing I would like to see is the lighting toned down just a bit but thats my personal taste too

Seeing this photo,I feel the way the hands (holding the infant) are cropped in the photograph doesn't allow me to see the main subject, the baby, also one of its feet is separated in total darkness not connecting with baby..I don't see any emotion with the baby and with what the baby is looking at or it's setting.. The black background is way too dark....the bright light could be a lill softer....
